Venice. That was were Kaleb Urquhart was living when the vaccine was being created. he was born in Boston, Massachusetts from birth, to the age of 14. His parents had divorced and as a way to start a completely new life, he and his mother moved to Italy. Living in Venice was a good thing for Kaleb. He learned a lot and even graduated from Ca' Foscari University of Venice. Unfortunately his mother, Isolde, was unable to attend the ceremony as she had gotten caught in a car accident months previously and dies several hours later in the hospital due to internal bleeding. Kaleb was hit hard by her death. He loved his mother dearly. After getting his emotion in check, Kaleb moved on with his life and a few years later the vaccine was released a revolution started. Not knowing what was to become of the vaccine, Kaleb didn't hesitate to get this "revolution." Not long after he was exposed to the vaccine, Kaleb's life changed dramatically. Or in better reference, Supernaturally.
The sun was only inches from being invisible to Venice, Italy as night washed over the sky. It was a warm night with windless air. A flock of birds were making their way through the deep navy colored sky as they journey back home to their young. In a sense that was what Kaleb was currently doing. Though he had no children or wife to meet inside when he arrived at his apartment. He had just left from working at Harry's. It was a well known bar that he had worked at for five years. The pay was good and the hours were generous. As Kaleb waked him normal route home he didn't have an uncommon, abnormal, thought. He just continued with his easy and smooth pace. His long legs taking him closer home with every step down an old street. There were many cracks on the pavement and slithers of green weeds peeked through them. The building were beautiful and had much potential. Some vines filled with hundreds of leaves crawled alongside the walls and made intriguing patterns
He was only a few blocks away from his house when the strangest thing happened. It was like nothing he had ever experienced before. His chest clenched and his heard burst in pain. His eyes were dilated and he felt like he was about to fall to the ground. He yelled out in agony from the sudden change in his person. He knew nothing of what was happening and that frightened him. Thought it felt like forever, the pain was only there for a mere seconds. In a sense it was hours but what had just happened to Kaleb was something that time would not be able to determine. Something that science has studied for years but had not come to terms with.
Kaleb's head was a ease once again. His chest was loosened and his breathing was slowing. Once he pulled his composure together again he continued forward only to be thrown back in confusion. What laid out around Kaleb was not Venice, Italy. It was Boston. He was standing outside of his old house. The one he lived in when his parents were still married. Freaking out, Kaleb stared at the house for what seemed like a lifetime. His gaze was interrupted by the front door of the house opining and a little boy around the age of 7 or 8 ran out with a dog. Casper? Kaleb though. He could not believe his mind at the sight of the dog. Casper was his childhood friend, companion, and pet. That was until he died of old age just before his parents split. He took sight of the little boy and was stunned to see his childlike self as he and Casper ran alongside the wooden gate that surrounded the house. Thought it was still night, the lights from the house ignited the whole yard. Kaleb moved behind the light and tried not to get noticed.
He watched his young self and realized what might had happened. Somehow he went back in time or was illumining this. He had heard of some people retrieving "special" gifts after getting the vaccine. It was logical that he could have received one of these gifts. Kaleb's train of thought was cut short when another voice stole his attention. "Kaleb, honey, you need to come back inside or you'll get a cold." She said. There... Right in the doorway was his mother. She was young and looked happy. Kaleb could not help but to smile at the sight. He was tempted to walking over to her and give her a big hug but controlled the urge. And then it happened again. The pain in his head. The compressed chest and loss of breath. When the pain stopped he found himself back in the same place he had been before the time lapse. Not really knowing what to do he made his way to his home once again.
