TIME MANAGEMENT
Because having each month on the site equal a month in real life would seem ridiculous, we have decided to have "shorter" months. Three weeks in real life will equal one month in the RP world of Inscription. For example: The calendar will start off in January while it is currently July. Three weeks from now, the month will be changed to February.
Let's say you start a thread while the month is January, but sometime in the duration of your thread, the month changes to February. Since the thread was started in January, any events that take place during the thread happen during that month. However, threads, and therefore events, can happen in any order, something called fluid time. If Derek and Owen have a thread where Owen gets shot in OOC (Out of Character) July 15th, but Owen has a date with Cristina where he is not wounded on OOC July 17th, even though the date came second chronologically, you may say that the date came before the shooting. That is an example of fluid time.
Things in the Mindless Banter section of the board typically operate on OOC time. That means for things such as Character of the Month, Member of the Month, Polls, Surveys, Activity Checks, and Superlatives take place during the month that it currently is in real life, not on the board, and therefore, will not change when the month on the site changes.
